A spiffy new residence which was freshly baked and delivered into our inbox via Design Milk is this striking modern sensation from Fitt De Felice. Elida De Felice and Kylie Fitt have been in the business for over 20 years and been published in loads of really important books and architectural collections. Both ex- SJB Architects who set up their own gig in 2007, they were also the brains and the energy behind bringing the Pecha Kucha scene in Melbourne.
For those of you who have not encountered the Pecha Kucha scene, it goes a little something like this….Take 20 creatives from design, engineering, architecture, hairdressers, artists – whomever’s got the energy and the willingness to share. Put them in a room and ask them to present 20 slides with no more than 20 seconds per slide to share with their peers. The Fitt De Felice duo launched the cross-disciplinary design forum after Mark Dytham, of Tokyo’s Klein Dytham Architecture (KDa), asked them to bring his not-for-profit concept to Melbourne. And here you thought 20/20 was only about the cricket….
Their latest project ‘Decontra’ is also featured in the Thames + Hudson book ‘A Place in the Sun’, but you can check out more pics on their website here. We love this project and we’ve chosen this shot of their striking bathroom to show you because well, as much as we’d like to bang on about architecture and design, we suppose it should have something to do with stone…
So here it is, the money shot. A stunning granite with striking markings throughout the works in with the clean lines to provide a sense of movement on the floor. Like it? << insert Eco Outdoor ad here>> Well, it just so happens that we have a similar high end granite called Lagano which provides the same clean modern look. You like?
