a sign of life
Another fave from Kristen [ECO NSW] is Paul Cocksedge from the UK who does a lot of interior feature pieces and installations. One of her faves is the LIGHT O1 flower light which you can check out here.
Drawing on the symbolic of light and water as fundamental life giving forces, Life 01 is a unique [...]
another design ditty
Here’s another designer we think you should take a peak at. It’s a favourite of Kristen one of our Sydney girls and well worth a look in. His name is Marteen Baas and he’s a young designer from the Netherlands. He graduated in 2002 from the Design Academy Eindhoven with two designs. His two design [...]
a data centre never looked so good
This project is one we worked on a little while ago but it’s an interesting one to share because it’s a little different.
Polaris is Australia’s largest purpose built Tier 3+ data storage facility, located south of Brisbane in one of Australia’s fastest growing master planned cities. Given the vast expanse of windowless tilt slab concrete, [...]
edible garden at pizzeria mozza in LA
Our friends over at Lushe Gardens alerted us to this fantastic edible garden installed at Pizzeria Mozza in Los Angeles by Tournesol Siteworks. This is a great example of a living garden which really brings the idea of ‘farm or plant to table’ to life.
They irrigate the modules using Netafim in-line drip irrigation and a [...]

A cute courtyard garden with a limestone patio, hardwood deck and framed japanese maple
Seating in this small courtyard garden is provided by a bespoke built-in bench, with an architectural backdrop of bamboo to screen the surrounding walls. The courtyard also features pale limestone paving in combination with bespoke benches and hardwood decking, which continues up [...]
weekly garden profile / studio ‘g’
“I knew of Patrick Blanc’s work far before I knew of him. I had happened across a few of his installations during various travels. Every time, I was stopped in my tracks in recognition of something truly amazing. His vertical garden walls get me every time. Many are in France, but his work spans the [...]
we don’t normally get excited about toilets but…
We’re loving the the W+W space saving and innovative sink / toilet, designed by the Gabriel & Oscar Buratti for Roca. Many bathroom designs are compact in size and the W+W takes up the space normally dedicated to a simple bathroom vanity or sink stand.
introducing nightlightstudio
We’re also always on the lookout for independent designers who are doing interesting things in the furniture space. Here’s one we came across recently.
His name is Liam O’Brien and he founded nightlightstudio - an Australian furniture design-manufacture studio. Liam makes some really fabulous pieces and one piece we love is the Nan & Pop chair [...]
pool and bathroom designs morph with the exence
First came aquariums: glass sided pools or glass tanks in which living aquatic animals or plants are kept. Then sleek infinity pools began to introduce the glass-sided feature into luxury hotels and domestic settings. Now, Axolo’s Exence takes the trend to our bathrooms.
Designed by Giovanni Ronzoni, Luisia Frigeria and Fabrizio Proserpio, Exence is “an absolute [...]
