Contemporary style defines this Sydney house and garden. The house is undeniably sharp with crisp angles, modern finishes and exquisite attention to detail. Grounded in a sophisticated colour palette and using a carefully curated list of building materials, the house is luxurious, considered and welcoming.

Contemporary lines continue into the landscape design of the property, where they have been pared beautifully with striking simple colours and natural textures. A large varnished timber deck, that will maintain its golden honey colour, leads down to the feature stone staircase that sweeps up from the pool area. Paved entirely in Dauville, a Spanish limestone, the pool area provides a whole new spectrum of colour to the design; a brilliant bright white which contrasts spectacularly with the light blue of the pool water.

The curved shape of the pool softens the design, as does the sandblasted finish of the natural stone. The fresh-grassed area picks up on this textural softness but reintroduces the contemporary design cues with sharp edging and a solid rectangular shape.

Looking down onto the garden from the higher levels of the house you can see the striking effect of this colour blocking. The garden has defined zones that lead the eye through all the layers of the space before settling on the private jetty, where the crisp white timber edging then finally leads the eye all the way out to the open water

This contemporary home and outdoor space is all about bold colour and soft textures. The palette has been kept simple, the lines and shapes contemporary, and the end result is a beautifully balanced modern home and garden design.
