The Kinfolk Table by Nathan Williams celebrates all of this and more. Amongst the 85 recipes, you’ll find refreshingly simple delights that showcase the produce like freshly harvest mussels or cantaloupe with a healthy dollop of yoghurt and honey (recipe below). For when you have a little more time on your hands, ginger ice-cream with a kumquat compote, kimichi couscous or sweet potato and quinoa burgers will go down a treat. “We collected recipes from all different cultures that are suitable for nearly every occasion”.
Morning Melon Recipe from The Kinfolk Table
What you’ll need:
1 homegrown cantaloupe or muskmelon
Full-fat yoghurt
Honey
What to do:
On a warm summer morning, pick a melon from your garden, halve it, and scoop out the seeds.
Fill it with yoghurt (granola, too, if you like) and then drizzle honey over the whole deal.
Sit in the sun and eat it with a spoon.
You don’t have to be a cooking enthusiast to enjoy The Kinfolk Table. It’s a beautiful read for anyone drawn to a rich, creative community who have a thoughtful approach to living.
