What is Travertine?

Used as a key building material throughout the ages, Travertine is a type of limestone that is a precipitate of hot springs. Travertine pavers present soft, neutral colour tones and consistent, naturally formed holes that may penetrate the tile. These holes may be filled with grout upon install. Some travertine pavers can be pre-filled during fabrication. However, this finish will result in it being a honed/polished surface and is not a product that we offer.

Travertine pavers suitable for many applications

Our range of travertine pavers features stones with different finishes that cater for all applications. Whether it be an aged tumbled finish, crisp clean sawn or a slightly distressed sandblasted finish, there should be a travertine tile suitable for any project.

A very hardwearing range

Being dense and robust, travertine is ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. These pavers give soft texture where needed, while being refined at the same time. All our travertine tiles are dimensionally cut from larger slabs. As this stone is hardwearing, the tiles are available in thin formats. These are great for areas with limited setdown.

Costs and formats to suit your project

We offer travertines from right at the lower end of our pricing bracket to the peak. For example, Ravello® and Tolfa are commercially common, fit for any budget and supplied in smaller formats. In the middle, we have Chambon, which is efficient when it comes to sizing by providing random length formats in a striking, sandblasted finish. On the other hand, Scala® is a unique, large format product with a consistency in colour. These factors set it on top of the pricing chart.
