Situated on the waterfront of Mosman’s Long Bay this newly renovated family home required a garden that would be top of its class and provide a private retreat from busy Sydney life. The design approach by Site Image Landscapes was to provide a variety of usable spaces that would suit the whole of the family, a garden that had visual form and colour with functionality.

Set on a steep slope, paving and deck platforms are set amongst vibrant gardens leading from the street to the entrance, and on to the rear garden (waters-edge). The rear garden houses an outdoor kitchen and entertaining area for the grown ups, then steps down again to a generous lawn area and a re-vitalized lagoon like pool giving this growing family plenty of room to stretch their legs.

The choice of natural materials and neutral colour palette was key in making the house and garden connect. Clancy random ashlar walling was used on the external facade of the renovation and extended through to the outdoor entertaining area and garden for continuity, Cashmere pavers were chosen to complement the colour palette and provide a non-slip surface for the many steps and pool area.
